Privacy
This page covers the sigil.ae website only. Client engagements are governed by the contract and any data processing agreement signed for that engagement, not by this page.
What this site collects
One thing: what you type into the contact form. That is your name, your email address, optionally your organisation, and your message. There is nothing else - this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and has no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no third-party scripts beyond the Google Fonts stylesheet referenced below.
Where it goes
When you submit the form, the browser sends those fields to a relay service we run on Google Cloud Run (region us-central1). The relay emails them to our mailbox and does not store them. Concretely:
- The relay receives your submission over HTTPS.
- It sends an email containing your fields to info@sigil.ae through Google Workspace.
- It keeps your submission only in memory for the duration of that request. It has no database.
- It records your IP address transiently, in memory, solely to rate-limit abuse. It is not written to a durable store by us.
Our sub-processors for this flow are Google Cloud Platform (hosting the site and the relay) and Google Workspace (delivering and storing the resulting email). Standard infrastructure request logs are generated by Google Cloud.
Why we hold it, and for how long
We use what you send only to reply to you and to carry on the resulting conversation. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making. Once a submission has become an email in our mailbox it is retained like any other business correspondence; we delete it on request.
Please do not send personal or patient data
This form is not a secure channel for personal data. Do not use it to send patient data, personal health information, or any special-category personal data. If you need to share something sensitive, email us and we will agree a secure route and the necessary agreements first.
Your rights
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability apply to what you send us here. Note that Sigil Scientific Enterprises is established in the United Arab Emirates, so a submission from Europe is transferred outside the EEA; we rely on your consent in sending the form, and for client engagements we put appropriate transfer safeguards in the engagement contract.

Third-party requests your browser makes
Pages on this site load a webfont stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com and font files from fonts.gstatic.com, which discloses your IP address to Google. Nothing else on the page calls out to a third party unless you click a link we have marked as external - for example a DOI, a partner's site, or the signature verifier, which queries the public Sigstore Rekor log.
Why there are no terms of service
There is nothing here to agree to. This site sells nothing, sets no cookies, creates no account and runs no service you could sign up for; the only thing you can send us is the contact form, and this page covers it. Terms that would matter - scope, liability, intellectual property, data processing - belong in a signed engagement contract, drafted for that engagement. We would rather have none than publish boilerplate that says nothing.
Changes
If we change how this site handles what you send, we change this page and move the date at the top.
